The Everett folks pulled out of the series last fall. If you look at the web site again and click on the Northwest Salmon Derby Series you will see the list of the 14 derbies with Edmonds as the last one.

Anyone know what constitutes a "Mystery fish"????

The mystery fish is the fish that weighs in closest to the mystery weight which is announced after final weigh in at 2pm.

Well dudes, no tickets were available for us Whidbey dudes when I went to get them, so, I guess you all have a chance at the winning fish then Guess the river it will be for me. Have fun out there.

Anyone planning heading north towards Bush and Lagoon Pt., keep in mind fog rolled in very quickly a half hour ago, visibility about 100 yds at best.

Fog pushed through, clear now.

Team Carrol had a tough time up at Lagoon Point. Marked some fish, but could only manage to get one to bite. Fortunately, I was wearing my EAR hat and the fish was dumb enough bite my hootchie.

9 pounds. 1.5 ounces. Good for 21st place.



Won me a new Lamiglass rod and Shimano reel that I'll never use.

Looks like Bob will get yet ANOTHER rod and reel out of me for his raffle. I'm personally donating 2 new rods and 3 new reels to his raffle.

Speaking of which, I wonder if we'll ever see a raffle......

We managed three. Beating you by a couple ounces scored me a 6 mp Sealife Ecoshot camera, floating strap and portable fish cooler.

Sue,Capt.Don and I put 4 in the box, nothing big. Sue's fish hit the scale at 7.6lb....Mystery fish 7.6lb...too bad we didn't hit the weight-in till 1:45. That fish was in the box at 10:00am...Oops $500 NOT...an hour late and 500 short....Congrats to ALL the winners...Excellent run Tourney...

We lost two nice fish first thing in the moring then after that it was shaker city until we caught a wild one out in front of Edmonds. First time no one on the boat didn't have a fish to weigh. I guess the best spots were South of Edmonds and over at Jeff Head. I went North then finished up around Edmonds. Overall it seemed pretty slow.

Many thanks to the Sno/King PSA guys who worked their arse off for our good time, as well as the sponsors, and the crew at the Port of Edmonds.

Nice fish Parker

Parker there were a bunch of really special little kids up there you should have given that rod and reel to...they would have really appreciated it.

This was the first time I fished the Sound. Man it was pretty tough sledding out there. I managed 8-10 juvenile salmon, mostly Chinook. I went out with a local and we hit it hard. The biggest thing we landed was a 36" Dog Fish that was hooked in the dorsal fin. The most rewarding thing for me as a sponsor was watching the Kids division prizes being awarded. The 15 foot skiff was awarded to a little guy that couldn't have been over 6 years old. Man what a feeling to watch that little guy react to the news. The Derby was a great success even though the bite wasn't that great. Many of the fisherman I talked to say that the bite should improve in the near future. It was a honor to be a part of the Derby.
