Parker ...You showed us the trick of disguising a big chuck of lead in the shape of a diver just so we can spend 10 hours floatin to "FLOSS" 1 Ho...it just does get any better...Wait... dogfish on fly...

Thanks for the info on the dick nite diver set up. Just one more question. What kind of diver do you use and how far do you hang it below the main line? Thx

Brad's Magnum or Mudd Dawg...I run the main line right to it 90% of the time...Jet divers I put on a slider 90% of the time and depending on what we're running behind it'll be 1-4ft...I'm not an Expert, I'm a rookie flosser...

fished the lewis to Db sunday lost one in the first 5 mins, saw 4 get boated.
fishd just a few hours on the sky yesterday, nothing on pluggs tryed dick nites a few times. not to sure about them first tme really using them. just about to pull out of the last hole i was fishing, decided to row up to the top and try some drift gear and eggs. first cast hookd into something i never got to see. had it on for about 30 seconds, as thats how long it took him to spool me with 12 pound test. wont be out till next monday.

on a side note that was my first time into the snohomish. in all that flat dead water whats the best way to fish it?? i have a DB no motor. i ended up just blowing alot of it to get to the take out.

In all that "flat dead water" on the Snoho, look for rolling fish......obviously that's where to fish. Work that active spot, mostly because under that water there is some structure that is attracting them. Usually, it's submerged stumps, snags, or boulders. The Snoho coho love hanging out near snags, pilings, and overhanging brush, too. Sometimes you feel like a bass angler, but throwing plugs, spinners and spoons in these areas will usually result in a strike.

Try free drifting those slow-moving flats and cast/retrieve spinners thrown towards the banks, too. Good luck.

Buy an electric..this is the only time of year that it's a must have for the Db
almost all of the Snoho can be productive at times but everybody has the secret spot(s) With an electric you can cut hours off that float time...

I'm hearing of a ton of seals in the snohomish this year. So many that my neighbor thinks the seal numbers are putting the fish off the bite where he's been fishing because the seals are harassing the fish so much. These are apparently harbor seals not lions or stellars.

No need to license your boat with an electric motor. The license applies to boats with motors over 8 HP I think. Call the Vehicle Licensing Office near you to find out.

I know there has been discussion about this in the past, is this true that you need to license your drift boat.

I rowed around Doug Bar last Saturday afternoon for a few hours and there was a seal that was always near me waiting for an easy dinner. I guess I tought him a lesson since I didn't touch a thing. Saw about 12-15 rollers in about 2 1/2 hrs. No excuses, I know there coming and it is an easy place to put in and take you your boat for a few hours. Maybe this weekend I will have time for a good float.

Are the seals in the Snohomish a new phenomena? This is only my 3rd year fishing it. Last year I saw a sea lion at Thomas Eddy but that was it. This year I've seen several from just above 522 all the way down to Snohomish ramp. I hope they don't ruin this fishery. It's one of my favorites I look forward to as it's so close and usually good fishing. If you see a seal is it even worth fishing in that spot?

We've run the electric for 4yrs now without #'s on the Db and never had anybody say boo about it and we've b.s'd w/ the warden and the county mounty and never a word was spoken...but we only run it for sept, oct. and only this lower sky upper snoho fishery...maybe I'll get ticketed the next time out...but if we're lucky they'll stick to the meth A$$HLOES breaking in to cars instead...

The Snohomish is no place for a motor of any kind....I go there for the serenity and beauty. stir

I have seen Seals all the way to the mouth of the Wallace during summer run season no less! Got to drag their ugly bodies over shallow riffles to get up there some years.

I guess I will take my chance as well, because it always seems as though the wind is blowing up river. I used an electric once about 5 years ago and someone said it may not be legal.

RognSue,

I don't know how I keep missing you guys out there, I am sure we will see each other this year. I will be somewhere in the stretch of water you fish this Sunday and most Saturdays the rest of the Silver seaon, look for the Gray Lavro in my avatar.
