Wouldn't miss it for the world...I suspect it will be a bloodbath...and that the RWWJ's who applauded Palin's factless and substanceless pre-written speeches still won't mind one bit.
Fish on...

I predict half the wacko's on the right wing will claim victory and that their candidate "knocked it out of the park", and the other half of the left wing fruitcakes will also claim victory as their candidate is the next second coming of Moses and the waters will part.

I predict Obama to make more sense, speak more clearly, and in general show how much better educated and in touch with the real world he is. I also predict the Granbo/ Carribou Barbi fans will not hear any of it and claim a solid victory depite common sense. -T

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

I'll be intellectually honest. I detest the liberal attacks on hunting, the 2A and all the hippie treehugging freaks that support the democratic party. That being said, I think Obama is a sharper speaker and a more polished candidate . He ain't gettin my vote but that's what I see.

Wholly Shiat! I was correct in my predictions.

What an interesting 97 minutes! You know I have come full circle - I started out this election cycle believing that no matter who we elected, we were going to be so much better off than they we have been for the last 8 years. I could live with McCain as President, I will end up voting for Obama, my biggest concern is Gov. Palin and her place a heartbeat away.
I thought that both candidates did quite well. There was lots of agreement between the two candidates, especially on the first part that dealt almost exclusively with the economy. Obama was much more engaging and called McCain John throughout the debate while McCain never personally addressed Obama directly. The foreign policy portion clearly brought out the fundamental differences between the candidates. It was amazing that both candidates saw totally different Iraq wars. McCain saw the Iraq war as starting with the surge. Obama saw it like the surge didn't exist. They both have serious liabilities with this one.
If either side expected a knockout blow, I think they were disappointed. There was a very serious and sober tone, reflective of the very serious situation we now find ourselves in.

I would say it was a draw. However, it focused on foreign policy... McCain's supposed strong point. The most interesting part for me came afterwards when I heard that my conservative, Naval Academy graduate lifetime Republican father-in-law, who has never voted Democrat and said he never would, is now considering Obama. That kind of thing would scare me if I was in the McCain camp.
It will be an interesting 6 weeks.

This is how BarackO debates - he agrees, I agree with John, I agree with what John said, John & I agree.... how many times did he do that? Same thing he did with Hillary, he copied her exactly but somehow makes it his own by adding flowery pleasantries. Tonight he effectively became McCain - save the bites that he memorized & regurgitated via his handlers.
But what else could be expected of a guy who when asked his OPINION says - thats above my pay grade. Since when is an opinion above anyones pay grade?
How come I've never seen you post anything related to fishing?

Did anyone get a correct count of how many times Big O said "Sen. McCain is right" of course John's right....Duh. And was it me or did John look great, confident, and at least 15 years younger. John must have got a hummer back in the dressing room. Round 1 to John McCain. Mf

I'd say they were about even last night, and while that's disappointing as a Democrat, it ought to be really disappointing to a Republican, since the "foreign policy" debate was the only real chance McSame had to gain any ground...he'll get devoured in any conversation about domestic issues or the economy.
This was his chance, and he blew it.
Fish on...

Very nearly even IMHO. If you saw a clear victory by either you need to go clean your political lenses.
McCain was sharp on foriegn policy even if he did make a few factually incorrect remarks. Obama was presidential with an unflappable demeanor that most folks will like.
McCain is saddled with a God awful pick for VP. (That says something about his judgement.) Obama is too liberal and too inexpirenced -But by the same standard Palin is 100% unacceptable.
Asd a certified old fart myself I can tell you 72 is too damn old to handle the job of president and Palin is absolutly not qualified to take his place. That leaves us with Obama.
Can anyone say they would be comfortable with Plain for Pres? If so, go watch the mess she made of the softballs Katie Korik threw her.
