Or, "pissed" if you hunt it and get your ass kicked like me. I hate that F'n unit.

I killed this one about 15 years ago, he is an upper Clackamas buck. Most would call him a cross/ Bench leg. Can't really argue to much but I wouldn't have passed on him either. Saw one a few years ago in the Coweman unit that was bigger, but they don't get that big by being dumb and haven't been able to find him during season but I know which hell hole he lives in and will try again this year during the late rifle hunt.

Holy shite...those are some huge blacktails! Though I make my living fishing, I'd much rather be hunting and just can't get enough of it. An old friend used to say that the biggest blacktails on earth were high up in the Olympic Mountains. He and his kid used to pack in there in the fall and would always shoot great bucks. That Pysht buck proves that the genetics are definitely there.

Shannon's dad works, or worked, I'm not sure if he is retired now, for the Forest Service and used to spend allot of time on a couple of "secret" south slope ridges in the Olympics. You should see some of the bucks and shed antlers he has collected over a lifetime. Probably the most impressive blacktail collection on earth. The buck at the top of this post is among them. smile

Your ####ing killing me! That's where these guys used to hunt, on the south slope and southeast side of the Oly Pen, up in the alpine.

Week and half until Oregon elk hunt...chums and silvers just aren't cutting it!
