Anyone know any good ones?

I've found good ones in San Diego, San Fran, and Portland, but don't know of any good ones in my own area.
I figure there's got to be one in or around Tacoma & Seattle somewhere.
The places with the roast ducks on hooks are almost always the best. The ones where no one speaks English are even better.

Thanks.

King cafe but they're gone.

The Four Seas in China town is good.

Do you work Downtown RVW?

Four Seas is good, so is Jade Garden and Noble Court on the eastside.

There used to be a really good place in Georgetown called My Dad's Dim Sum but I think the son and father had a business dispute, the son assulted his father, ...and they shut down.

No I don't work downtown but used to.....EMT/Firefighter also worked some of the hospitals on pill hill.

Jade Garden IS also excellent.

Salty and soy sauce chicken along with real BBQ pork still brings a smile when lookin' for a quick fix.

That reminds me maybe I'll have little woman stop on her way home tonight.....

The Purple Dot and Sun Ya in China Town and The Great Wall down in Renton by Ikea. All of 'em pretty good but Sun Ya has kind of a funky smell when you first walk in (lots of roasted ducks hanging by the kitchen). Nobody here makes Dim Sum like in San Fran though, it all pales in comparison. Closest thing would be up in Vacouver.

It's not Dim Sun, but it is a "MIW" Meat in Window place , with the hanging ducks and such.

Kau Kau, good BBQ, with 4.99 Lunch Specials (last I was there)

ID in Seattle.

Try their Squid in Black Bean Sauce sometime.

My wife and I are chineese food freaks. From B'ham we go to chinatown in Vancouver. If you are up there I recomend Garden Villa at 127 Pender st. I have their card in my wallet.
Being non-religous, we go there every year for "Jewish Christmas" (Chineese and a movie).
They have Dim Sum. Most of the patrons are Chineese and you can only sort of guess what you are ordering but the seafood dishes are top notch, especially the shrimp dumpling dim sum dish.
We always order some dim sum and off the menu. You have to ask for the menu. I also like the scallop/ fried noodle dish (menu).

Sorry I have not explored Seattle as much but there is a seafood joint in the International district East of I-5, I think in "little Saigon" that you have to take an elevator up to get to. I never have gotten thir card but I can usually find the place. Anyhow, good seafood. They'll have Goeducks in a tank up front. Sorry man, I don't know the name or address of that one.

Dice-k,
cds

I used to go to a place at about 145th and Aurora......little hole in the wall. They have a dish called ja jang myeon, or cha jang mein that was out of this world. Seafood, vegetables and mushrooms served on noodles with a sweet black bean paste sauce. If you're close with the name, they'll know what you're looking for.

Awesome dish.

Sorry......can't remember the name of the place........but I could take you there. grin

Don't know of a good Dim Sum here but am watching this thread close. Still remember the awesome food at a Dim Sum in SF where they rolled carts by & you grabbed off of it. Ask for water & they look at you cross eyed like you are from the moon. Calling over their co-workers while everyone repeats at your direction whhattar, which never comes. It was there in that restuarant that I learned Coca-cola is a universal word.

Oh BTW, there's a new Korean BBQ Hot Pot "grill at yer table" joint in Tanglewild in Lacey.

Its called "Number 1 Korean BBQ" there's a sign that says "we no take check"... it's the best Korean Ive had outside Vancouver BC.

I love Ja Ja Mien (or however it is spelled). Thought I was the only white guy that eats it.

I used to eat at the Kau Kau all the time back inthe 80s. Great barbeque. I wonder if they are still serving the braised goat brains?

Last time I was down there, for Beerfest, I tried to get a pic of that sign but the sun was behind it and it didn't turn out and I had about 30 Burnside junkies eyeing my camera.

If you're in Victoria, Don Mee's, which has the tackiest neon sign on the street, has dim sum after midnight. Given the cheesey sign, I really didn't expect much but it was great. Of course, we'd been pounding beer at Swans before that so it may not be that great but my beer induced hunger didn't care.
There's also a small place across street that sometimes has dungeness crab in black bean sauce that is killer.
