It's just a gut feeling not supported by any facts or figures. Not all Americans are liberals and we will soon have the most liberal Prez and Congress in our history.

Of course we could have a complete financial meltdown and a need for a new WPA. Dems do that sort of thing pretty well.

Oh I follow politics allright, always have.

I mean, having an interest in who and how well your country is be run by is what's known a 'civic duty'. Some show up every 2-4 years, bitch, vote and go home. I get a bit more involved.

It goes beyond voting.

You show your naivete, someone truly obsessed with politics would never have time to post here. Poltiics in the day of 24 hours news cycles (really 6 now) doesn't leave much time for anything else.

Back in the day, I could really light people up, but i've mellowed over the years........... grin

It's dark out by the way, so I don't ususally fish at night.

Squid sometimes......................

At night I am mostly hating America, consorting with terrorists, and blaming America first.

If I have any time after that I usually come on this site and a few others and troll for knuckle draggers.......................... grin

Im still waiting for the excuse of the GOP double standard.

On another occasion, back in college, I attended a BBQ for a girl's brother that had just been released from prison for 2nd degree murder. At the age of 15 he was involved in a drug store robbery in which the ringleader shot a bystander and was tried as an adult accessory, serving 10 years. He was a really nice guy and I spoke with him for a good hour before he told me what the party was for. I don't want to imagine what a little 15 year old kid would have endured at Walla Walla.

I guess under the guidelines of modern McCarthyites that makes me a murderer too, since I "pal-around" with convicted murderers.

Hank, in case you hadn't noticed, liberal is no longer a pejorative in the American Political Lexicon........... thumbs

I mean, sure it is on Fox, but that's about it these days.

Not only that, many of the Hosue, and a few of the Senate Dem pickups were by 'moderate' Dems in swing states. The House class of 2006 seems to be holding those seats just fine, many crusing to victory this year, and of course a few very close races also. But only a few.

Calling Democratic candidates 'liberals' is actually what lost the GOP many House seats in 2006. Post poll interviews tended to show that in many cases, the voters knew the candidates from previous statewide elections, and KNEW they weren't liberals, just Dems.

They knew they were being lied to by the GOP, and it's respective candidates, and resented it. They voted for in many cases, people who ran on a platform of 'change', back in 2006.

Another aside here, House polling always shows that voters like their Representative, even if giving Congress a negative rating. re election rates are high, until the electorate starts to swing, then they dip, and return to the previous 'stable' levels of re election.

Every single Dem that has run for election for well over 30 years has been tarred as 'the most liberal' whatever. Sen., Gov, doesn't matter, some how they were all 'the most liberal' If Clinton had won the primary, she'd have been 'the most liberal', instead of Obama. Same would have been true of anyone.

It doesn't wash anymore, another thing interviewed voters have started to say more and more over the last few election cycles.

Liberal is and always will be a pejorative in My Political Lexicon.

Moderate Dems I can tolerate. Zell Miller comes to mind and not because he gave that speech at the Repub convention. I can even go so far as to say Feinstein doesn't ALWAYS make me wretch. It's the Pelosi and Boxer and Lee LWWJ Dems that turn my stomach.

The voting record of Obama supports his "Most Liberal" label and that being said, I could never vote for him. His thinking runs too Socialist for my liking.

Every party has it extremes, I liked Lincoln Chaffey, but he got the boot.

I've said before, it's not Republicans, it THESE Republicans.

If the party put up some old fashioned 'Rockefeller Republicans', I could easily vote for them.

They don't.

I don't think you read everything I wrote in that post so just blow it out your ass. You're one of those LWWJ's that turn my stomach.

Extremes on both ends of the spectrum meet up agreeing that we need to go back to the stone age.

My problem with Obama and Ayers is more in the progression from denial to I was 8 years old to just a guy in the neighborhood to just servered on a board. Why not tell the truth up front 18 months ago. Most of the time if you try to hide something it's because you consider it to be a problem.
