I haven't duck hunted in 20 years but I recall the numbers of ducks plummeting and the "managers" placing a point value on the species and gender of duck you retained. Specifically directed to target the retention of drakes. Is it time to suggest something like this with Salmon and Steelhead? Seams like more often than not on an outting I will see or hear " I need a couple of hens" for the eggs. Are we harvesting a disproportion of hens do to their eggs?

It's my understanding a hen spawns once while a buck can spawn with 6-7 hens.
