And they catch a break on the Valdez spill? Wow!

You have no idea to what degree that infuriates me. But to try and curb their profit in any way to protect the middle class is considered socialism.

So what can you do?

Pretty pissed at the whole oil mess myself. Now with gas prices at $2.50/gal, and nothing essentially changed for those big oil bastards during the whole run-up, except for their profits exploding. The American Public (and businesses too) were fleeced out of hundreds of billions of dollars.

Drawing and quartering would be too kind.

6 months ago we were told there was nothing that could be done about the rising price of oil. We claimed we were being gouged and the speculators were artificially inflating the price. No, they said. It's all supply and demand. India's and China's demand for oil is causing the price to go up.

Today oil is down about 56% from its record high. Have we curtailed our driving by 50%? Has India and China curtailed their demand by 50%?

I don't think so.
