Oldest daughter Graduated from BSU with a Batch degree today. Worked full time, lived out on her own and did it in 6 years while paying for it mostly herself. No surprize. She has always been pretty driven. Was a cool deal to see baby girl walk across that stage. Happy day for this dad

I'm happy for you, Brent...and datewise, it depends on what you want to do...you have a good stable of folks...not "stable folks"...to run you around when you're over next.

Fish on...

Todd

Congratulations as it takes a lot of hard work and dedication.

Not to be a killjoy but makes me wonder what kind of future holds for these college grads? I got a boy who will be setting out on his own in a few years with a few more to follow after and I wonder what kind of future they can expect?

It is a little bit scary.

Thanks for the congrats. I didn't do Chit, she did it all. On the " what does the future hold front ".. Who knows. There was a kid with " GOT JOB ??" in block letters on top of her hat during the cerimony. Pretty funny.

She does fine now as a manager at an Old Navy store in Boise. Kind of funny to listen to her " Stupid crack stay home soccer mom piles out of the mini van with her 4 brat kids.. proceeds to walk into the store.. find some reason to treat me like crap and have an issue over anything.. and act like I am a total moron. I'll never be that woman ".

One thing totally stands out with the last two graduations I have attended. Pong Dong Lee gets a Phd while Frank Johnson gets a Batch in sports science. I swear, 80 % of the Masters in Science were handed out to people from Asia. Not a slam just a jab at our education system. Our kids need to stop learning so much worthless crap about Lewis and Clark or T-rex and start doing some math.

B-run,

So true about what the future holds. I'm glad your daughter has a job to tide her over until she can find something in her field. My youngest quit her good job two years ago to go to grad school. She got her Master's of Science degree in energy and water resources last May and hasn't landed a job yet. She's got a chance at a position after the New Year, but even high demand fields have cut back on hiring because of the economy.
