I have a Remington 700 300UM, I stripped out one of the scope mount holes a while ago and I would like to get it fixed. I also want to get a trigger job done on it, right now the pull is pretty stiff. Any suggestions, I was planning on just taking it to Kesselrings but it is a little bit of a drive from Sultan.

I can't think of his name right now.....he's in Lake Stevens. He moved his shop up there from Aurora in Fremont about 6 years ago.
John something.
Somebody will know.
He did a trigger job on my 700 bdl for 25 or so and it is sweet. He brought it down to a 2.5 lb pull and it's smooth. Really smooth.
He's the best metal guy from what I've heard.
Make sure to look through his brag pic book while in the shop. Dude has done it all.

Edit....
Jim Cloward is the guy's name.

Make sure to thank me again when you take that gun to the range! Dude rocks. Glad I looked him up for you. You will be happy.
He did some work for me 3 days before I left for a caribou hunt. I said I know you guys usually take a while but man I need this done now....he said bring it on in and called me back the next day to say it was done.
Until he retires there is nobody else I will use.

Just dropped my gun off at Jims, you would never think that shop was there by looking at the front of the house.

Just got my gun back from Jim Cloward. He told me two weeks but was done in two days, trigger is awsome, a little lighter then I expected (2.5lbs) I guess he is a pretty famous custom gun builder. His photo album was pretty amazing, almost 6 inches thick and all from Africa. He was a nice guy too, he tookthe time to go through the entire album and id all the animals that he has harvested for me and my girlfriend, it took almost 45 minutes. I would definatley go to him again.

Right on.
Last time I used him was before he moved north (hence no comment on what you said about his new place being hidden).
I had the same experience with him. Quality guy.
I've got one gun I need some work on so this will motivate me to get it done.
Glad you had a good experience.
The 2.5# pull will take a few shots to get used to but then you'll always want it like that. My groups tightened up a lot.

Thats funny you should say that, before he handed me the gun he told me to make sure I shot the gun before I went hunting becuase the trigger will take some getting used to.
