I am not sure if i can describe much more...but i can tell you what i used the rod for: I fished the Salmon River (NY) for two seasons - a technique shown to me by a friend was to use very long and very soft rods with very very light line. Water was very slow and fairly shallow - maybe 2 to 6 feet deep and extremely clear. I used 6 lb main and 4 lb leader and tossed flies and nymphs. My weight would be parachute cord filled with 4-8 steel BBs. This is what you would call and ultra sensitive and ultra ultra light presentation to fish that averaged 10lbs+. Purpose of the rod was to absorb the shock - just like a flyrod when using a very light tippit. Anyway, I think this system could be applied to some of the rivers here - maybe the Sky or upper Snoqualmie. Additionally, you could maybe fish very small floats and jigs. I tried to boondog on the cowlitz but it just didn't feel right. Let me know if you want to take a look.
