You suck!
I haven't held a fishing rod on over 4 months. Drill, hammer, impact driver, brad nailer, paintbrush, dikes, side cutters, yes. Fishing rod, negative.

Lookin good there DF. Glad to see the trespasser didn't distract you from the task at hand. Nice choice on the colors.

No granite for now, as getting the utilities to the property blew through $20,000 more than budgeted. There were a few other surprises, but we should have any issue completeing this on budget since I did a lot of the work myself. Decided on a high quality laminate with wood edges, same as the cabinets, cherry. Not sure on the sink just yet either.
We are going with oil rubbed bronze as well, and lots of slate flooring, cool looking stuff from India with lots of reds, purples, greens and yellows. I have 960 SF in the shop and a few hundred more I need to pick up. Very heavy stuff, as I could only take 480 tiles per truck load.
Estimated completion date is 3-4 weeks now that all interior paint is done. Countertops will be a day, then the slate flooring, then the wood floor, also cherry. A few days painting the exterior, digging a stormwater retention, and then finish electrical, plumbing and gutters.

Thanks, we'll look at that. Any brands I should consider? Link?

Looking good Andy!
We are just getting our cabinet order finished, and like everyone else, going with the different color for the island cabs and countertops, and the differing heights and depths, of the uppers. You (or wife) made classy choices in the cabinet finishes. With the Cherry floor it will look good.
I almost got my elec service panel finished, but forgot a bunch of stuff and then decided to make some changes to the kitchen wiring.
Edited by Rocket Red (06/22/09 12:04 PM) Edit Reason: figured it out.

Oh yeah those composite sinks are really cool. My granny has one in her new house, and I like the way they look and feel.

Thanks Andy. That just made any and all attempts at my doing an upgrade to our master bathroom look stupid and silly.
All I did was strip the place, remove/sand the the trim, paint the walls/ceiling, sand and repair/fill in the stained wood sink cabinets, drawers, doors, paint all the wood back up.
I'll put the new cabinet hardware on tonight, as well as put another coat on the walls.
The rest of the crap will go back on the walls (vanity, lights, towel bar crap, etc).
Last little bit will be to replace the floor, but that doesn't come in until next week. Once the floor is down, trim goes back on as well as the crapper.
The only bummer about this project is that I have no wife for the next 2 weeks. I real pain to play Mr. Mom as well as trying to re do a bathroom.

still looks great...i have no doubt that you will be fishing soon after you are finished...if it helps, i have been paying on a house i dont live in for the past year, not renting it out and spent a hour and twenty mins mowing the lawn at lunch, never finished and had to go back after work mow the top half, weed whack the back, trim some plants in the front water, and try to get some of the weeds controlled...i have been trying to get the house ready for sale, but fishing has taken over for me...
i cant seam to get the house ready to get on the market...but i have painted almost every room except got the old fishing room left...have been updating the lights, was going to do the kitchen but just cant seam to find the time...gonna put it up without the kitchen being done...
still have a lot of work, but we are lucky enough to be doing it on the weekdays...but those are limited...you will be done before i sell my house im sure....
it looks great, and all your hard work is showing....you will be fishing soon....plus you will have the added bonus of knowing that you did it right...
man i need to sell my house....i have a serious fishing problem...c

Got all the cabinet doors back on and aligned tonight! Just need to get the central vacuum guy in to set the toe-kick access and I can set the island and power it up with an outlet.

I am running the piping for my central vac this weekend. I am going to be setting the toe-kicks myself, hopefully I don't screw it up.
