the shimano drift rods are 6-10 two piece rods. nice light tips and good backbone.

The shimano plug rods are 8-12 two piece rods with a light tip and a lot of backbone.

The Loomis is "Designed specifically for back-trolling plugs or drift-fishing for large king salmon, this is also an excellent big river steelhead rod. The fast taper and powerful, magnum butt make it a favorite among silver salmon anglers. It has a long rear cork grip for extra leverage and lots of power." That is taken off their website...it is a 1021C 10-20 IMX Mag Medium. Hope this helps!
