FIREARMS REFRESHER COURSE

1. "Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not."

~Thomas Jeffer son

2. Those who trade liberty for security have neither. ~John Adams

3. Free men do not ask permission to bear arms.

4. An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

5. Only a government that is afraid of its citizens tries to control them.

6. Gun control is not about guns; it's about control.

7. You only have the rights you are willing to fight for.

8. Know guns, know peace, know safety. No guns, no peace, no safety.

9. You don't shoot to kill; you shoot to stay alive.

10. Assault is a behavior, not a device.

11. 64,999,987 firearms owners killed no one yesterday.

12. The United States Constitution (c) 1791. All Rights Reserved.

13. The Second Amendment is in place in case the politicians ignore the others.

14. What part of 'shall not be infringed' do you NOT understand?

15. Guns have only two enemies; rust and politicians.

16. When you remove the people's right to bear arms, you create slaves.

17. The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control.

IF YOU AGREE, PASS THIS 'REFRESHER' ON TO TEN FREE CITIZENS.

Simplistic slogans. Some of them made sense back in the time of Jefferson and Adams when a muzzle loader was high tech and a citizen could have equal arms as military personnel. Does anyone think arms legal for a citizen to posses today would stand up against modern military weaponry? I'm not in favor of more gun laws, but to imply that owning legal arms, semi-autos with unlimited clips, in this day and age is somehow going to protect us from tyranny is delusional.

rofl Whaddya mean? When the U.N. Commies parachute into their local football field, RvW & Hankster are going to load up thei pickup with .30-06 deer rifles, Spam, Leah Thompson & Jennifer Grey and head up into the hills to single handedly fight off the Reds with a rifle and good 'ole fashioned Red Neck tenacity. Then they'll get online afterward and tell us all how the country oughtta be ran.

So, basically resistance is futile so why even try? Wow... rolling over like that will result in a sunburned belly.

Militia seems to do a pretty good job in other parts of the world, if it wasn't, we wouldn't still be fighting a war, we would have it all laced up, right?

Tyrants are far more cautious when the possibilities of being met with an AR-15 are at hand. Without guns they just would just be herding sheep.

Not that I am building a bunker but I would rather have guns and not need them then to need them and not have them...

just sayin'....

Who's the militia in Mexico?

"Well we they could certainly rule out anywhere left of you......not possible......O'wait, that right, your an independent."

Yeah I tend to think for myself and came to the conclusion a long time ago that the Republican party has never practiced what it preaches and it's steadfast followers are members of a cult.

All them drug dealers that had the whole country afraid to travel there a few months ago.

Seems to work better than Berkeley-esque protesting.

Is it being implied that I am a republican because I am pro-gun?

Both parties are jokes in this country. Each are to attached to their base. The wackos. But what is even more of a joke is listening to people like you claim to be in the main stream. You and O'rielly should get together, you two free thinking independents. One from each side. grin

I must be in the mainstream right now as the majority voted the way I did and polls show the majority thinking like I do. I highly doubt Bill O could say the same.

Marz, so is the solution to arm the citizens even more than the heavily armed drug cartels or maintain the status quo?

I'm not sure if you really know everybody in the 'whole country' that were afraid to travel but the people I know in Mexico weren't afraid to travel.

Bearing arms is not a solution as much as it is exercising your rights and retaining a certain amount of unpredictability. Why not understand how to use a firearm and champion those that are responsible gun owners?

Why is it when anyone starts up with pro-gun talk it is automatically assumed they are a RWWJ? That is pretty strange considering that sweeping judgments are so often frowned upon on other topics.

I know people that vacationed there at that time, point missed. I guess I took too many liberties with that statement....

Guerrilla warfare in 3rd world nations is not easily exterminated under the current world conditions as one may assume is possible with modern warfare.

Is that better?

Where did I assume you were republican or post anything anti gun? It's something I repeatedly point out. It's those whom I label the gun nuts who post something pro firearms, get questioned and instantly assume the questioner is a filthy rotten anti gun liberal. To gun nuts any questioning of their arguments means you are "one of them". There are sane gun owners and then there are gun nuts.

I was not referring to you in that part but I was referring more to other posts in this thread. I was making an open statement after addressing you but it gets kinda confusing since there is the "RE:" up there.

I agree with you on the gun nuts thing.

I feel someone has to stand up for the sane, liberal, gun owners. Not all non koolaide drinking liberals sing kumbya, some have "This machine destroys facists" etched into the stock of their wepon.

I'm pro-gun, anti-gun nuts...they're the ones that make us gun owners look like idiots...they do us a disservice.

No gun law has ever been passed to stop a sane person from owning a gun...gun owners need to stop embracibg the nuts and make us all look stupid.

Sane gunowners would welcome it, and with the nutjobs pushed away, we might actually be able to get something done.

It's like being a pro-environment person and having to carry around the whacko enviros as baggage...the sane guowners need to ditch the gun nuts, and fast, or they'll always be lumped in with them and look stupid.

Dang Todd, I'm starting to agree with you more and more every time you post. Unfortunately just as the left has their nutjobs who are also law abiding citizens the right has theirs. The constitution doesn't say only right thinking, left thinking or middle of the road thinking individuals are covered by it. Who is going to be the one that chooses who does and who doesn't?

The right has no monopoly on "looking stupid by association".

Thats pretty much my point, I am pro gun, anti gun nut but it seems any time I get into a conversation regarding my pro-gun stance I seem to get lumped into the "gun nut" or "RWWJ" catagory.

It is not my associations as much as it is a general assumption that pro gun = Dick Cheney's fan club.

Salmonella has pointed out in the past that down here we are being legislated to death on gun laws. Obama is not coming to take our guns down here, but they may be legislated away by our own state government.

Why is it that if a person makes a pro gun statement, they are labeled a nut?

Fact is, If it wern't for Pro gun types or opposition to the anti's trying to pick away, we'd sure as hell have had our second amendment rights taken away LONG ago!

Anyone?

I think the new tactic is to track and tax, make gun owners pay for the right to bare arms.

I wonder what free speech is going to cost...

CA is a joke when it comes to firearms, they will release criminals but god forbid you have a 30rnd Mag.

Quit letting criminals out of jail, that would be a start.

Make the penalty for felony gun possession harsher and quit taking criminals actions out on registered gun owners.

Being caught with an unregistered gun should be more than a court date and counseling.

Yeah but how many jails do you want to pay for? How high do you want your taxes? I doubt stiffer penalties for being caught with an unregistered gun or a felon with a gun is going to be much of a deterrant as a murder charge these day's doesn't seem to be a big concern.

The criminals in CA laugh at the penal system, they know that they are over crowded and their release is encouraged (not only fiscally but sympathetically).

Until the very same people that want stricter gun laws consider stricter punishments for criminals they will continue to lock up guns and release criminals.

Maybe make prisons a place that sucks and not 3 squares and a bed.

Bad enough paying for their incarceration let alone allowing them to ruin our 2nd amendment rights.
