I have had decent luck in the past with traps, but these last two I bought just don't get sprung. The trigger is just to tight and the bait get's eaten for Free.

So today I google: "rat trap not tripping"

scroll down to find:

The Rat Trap Illustrated! « Mistressdivona's Weblog

Unfortunately I stopped reading the title after "Illustrated" and clicked on the link:

http://mistressdivona.wordpress.com/2009/11/10/the-rat-trap-illustrated/

Later I did find something that might help

Ash from Hardwares said it best:

"It's a trap!"

Don't click on that first link.

there was a show on the discovery ch. last year. i spased the name just now. anyways it was based on a LA Ca. exterminator buissness. roaches, mice, ants, bees and rats. they used a rat trap named "rat-zilla" i think. it was very effective. looked like a snaping bear trap. the bait they used on snaping traps was peanut butter. another thing they said was to put the traps along wall ways or known travel routes. rats have very poor eye site.

tie the bait to the trigger with thread or a twist tie....forget peanut butter and cheese.....use hard dog food
