I think you meant the "Angels" don't have him. Figgins will be a great addition to the M's. He walks quite a bit, steals a lot of bases, puts the ball in play, and really stretches out an at bat which helps his team get into the opponents bull pen a little earlier. He can play 3rd or outfield. Hopefully his presence will entice Ichiro to steal more as well.
Other rumors have the M's pondering Mike Cameron returning to play left field on a 1 or 2 year contract. The M's are also looking for a #1 or #2 starter, hopefully they make a run at Lackey but I doubt the Angels let him go. Rich Harden is a possibility but injuries are always a factor with him so the price would have to be right. Sorry I actually meant Angels.

Good pick up...pesky base runner that creates havoc when on base.

They'll get Felix wrapped up too.
What makes you think he wants to stay? Maybe he wants to go a contender? And that sure as hell ain't here.

Because NY or Bst will give him 200 million for 8 years..thats why. They shouldn't spend that much to keep him here. He will be traded before his contract ends for players/prospects. BOOK IT.

Mike Cameron = Richie Sexson. Get used to the strike outs.

Chone Figgins is a great acquisition. Now the REAL coup would be to somehow get Hanley Ramirez for our shortstop.

M's won't sign Jason Bay. His defense isn't good enough for the vast expanses of Safeco and the length of contract he would require would stagnate developing players from getting to the big leagues via left field.
From Fox Sports Winter Meeting Blog:
Byrd, Cameron on similar paths? — 12:00 p.m. The markets for free agents Marlon Byrd and Mike Cameron continue running parallel to one another.
One major league source pointed out Wednesday morning that many of the same teams are interested in both players: The Braves, Angels, Cubs, Yankees, Mariners, Mets and Giants have checked on each of them.
Byrd and Cameron entered the marketplace as center fielders but have drawn interest from teams seeking help in the corners, the source said.
Byrd, 32, has the advantage of being younger than Cameron, who will play at 37 next year.
The Cardinals also view Byrd as one fallback option if they fail to re-sign left fielder Matt Holliday.
The Mariners, meanwhile, believe Cameron would be an ideal fit for the expansive left field at Safeco Field, but he hasn't played anywhere other than center since the 2005 season. -- Jon Paul Morosi
