So there I was, I decided to load my two labs up and go for a run up the Sultan Basin road, I live on the road so it is only a couple mile drive up before I can get to several gated logging roads. I get to my road and ran up the road for a couple miles. I get back to my car and I still have about a half hour before dark. I have seen lots of interesting things on the basin road close to dark so I decided to drive up the road a little further. I have my sig .40 on my waist so I am not too worried about anything I might encounter. I get to the Marsh Creek mainline right next to the nudist colony and I ran into two tweekers in a S-10 pickup full of illegal wood. They were stuck behind the locked gate, and trying to get out. Wood cutting ended about two weeks ago so I know these guys are very illegal. I pull up next to them and ask if they need some help, they just stared at me. I had no cell phone service or I would have called the cops. I decided to sit and watch them for a while. The gate is surrounded by 3 foot tall concrete blocks. These guys decided their best bet was to build a ramp out of their illegal firewood. There first attempt over the blocks ended with them shoving their bumper into their grill and crumpling their hood. I kept telling myself I should leave but I couldnt, it was too funny. At one point their truck slid off the firewood ramp and bent their frame just below the driver side door, it ended up jamming the door and they had to use the passenger side. I ended up getting bored and went home, my girlfriiend was just getting home so I told her the story. She wanted to go watch the fiasco so we went back up. Just as we were getting there the tweekers were driving away, somehow they made it out.

Hilarious. Do a couple K worth of damage to steal (in an S10) maybe $100 worth of wood? Love it...

Police: Man shoots suspected prowler with arrow
Associated Press • Published December 15, 2009

Comments (2) Recommend (0)KELSO, Wash. – Kelso, Wash., police said a man used his compound bow to interrupt an apparent break-in at a nearby vacant home, wounding a fleeing man in the buttocks. Police said the man grabbed his hunting bow late Sunday night and chased a suspected prowler for more than three blocks. When the fleeing man refused to stop, the bowhunter shot him with a broadhead arrow.

A 32-year-old Longview man later sought treatment at St. John Medical Center for an arrow wound to the left buttock. Doctors removed the arrow tip and the man was listed in satisfactory condition Monday.

Kelso Police Capt. Vern Thompson said there were no immediate arrests and the investigation continues. He said charges against both men are possible.

". . . charges against both men are possible."

Another example of what is wrong in our society. People should be commended for shooting prowlers and burglars, not arrested. How is this so hard to figure out?

If the creep knew I could identify him, and knows where I live I would have to seriously consider chasing him down and slowing him down with a bloody hole or two.

Excellent reasoning JG, as if we were hurting for another reason to dispose of vermin. But that can be part of the defense when an upstanding citizen whacks a tweaker outside the house, off the property, etc. "But officer, I feared for my life cuz the tweaker saw me and saw that I could identify him, so he would come back and ambush me, requiring me to take preventative action."

NO BRAINS NO HEADACHES

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Police say a driver passed out in his car at a Tennessee gas station while a batch of methamphetamine was cooking in the back seat.

An employee at the gas station in Murfreesboro, about 30 miles southeast of Nashville, called police because the car was sitting at the pump for about an hour on New Year's Day.

Police say a chemical process to make the drug was in progress. Some meth-making ingredients can be explosive.

Murfreesboro Assistant Fire Chief Allen Swader told The Daily News Journal that gas pumps were shut off as a precaution.

Thirty-one-year-old Nathan E. Beasley is being held on a $15,000 bond on charges of driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, reckless endangerment and manufacturing meth. No attorney was listed in police records.
