Wanted: Outboard Kicker Motor - 8hp preferred. I have an old 18 hp Evinrude that my father in-law gave me that I could trade (if interested by not required). I am going to use this as a kicker motor on a 16 foot Sea-Ray so I don't think I need more than 8hp and the 18hp is just too big.

I saw this Honda 7.5 hp four stroke SS in Saturdays craigslist---it's only $425--if I didn't already have a good kicker I'd jump on it in a heartbeat.

It may have already have sold, but it's worth looking in to.

Check it out: www.seattle.craigslist.org/spo/39340058.html

Thaks Rory. I'll give them a call tomorrow. I was thinking I might need a long shaft but the picture showed the kicker sitting pretty high, at least higher than the OB. Do you know how far below the water they need to be?

A 16' Searay isn't going to have a very deep transom.

I think you'ld be OK with a Short Shaft---but if you factor in gettting a low fresh water houred Honda four stroke four about $400--it would be worth buying a kicker bracket that raised and lowered (sail boat type) if you had to.

You just need to be at least low enough to contunually draw in water through the impellor inlets.

Rory, just wanted you to know that I did look at the motor and it ended up being a short shaft and I really need a long shaft and if I changed my mounting bracket like you said, it would just be too far below the top of the boat. It was a great running motor and definitely worth the money he was asking. Again thanks for sending me the reply.

I have an 8hp Johnson. It is a Short shaft, so it may not work for you.

Give me a call if you are interested.

I have a 8hp Johnson I think it's an 1991. The motor is a long shaft. Great condition with very few hours on it. it also has a new 6 gallon fuel tank. I'm asking $800.00 but willing to take an offer also. If you interested I could email you a picture of it.

BigFang, Sorry I hadn't replied, been a few days since I've been on the site. I definitely need a long shaft but thanks anyway.

I have a 1998 Mercury 6HP long shaft that I am looking to sell. I had it on my 15ft Bayliner and it would push it around 8MPH at full throttle. Send me a PM if you are interested.

I've got a 2000 Yamaha 9.9hp 4 stroke long shaft. It has remote controls included. I'm going to be listing it on the site soon. I'd like to get about 1400 for it. Very low hours.
