Selling a 1977 OMC 120 HP outdrive and motor. Both in nice shape, only needs water pump housing in OD. Resonable offers. Unit was working fine (other than overheating from water pump issue) when we pulled it out to re-power our boat.

You willing to part with just the outdrive? Electric shift?

Hate to separate the two at this point. Yes electric shift. The local marina says the combo should sell from between $1000 to $1800 depending on condition. Make me a resonable offer and we'll see what happens. I can send pics too if you need.

I figured it would go as a pair. Got a spare tilt motor you want to get rid of.

I don't. What year OD do you have? I've got some connections, might be able to help you out.

It's a 73 120, the tilt motor is the 2 bolt syle with 2 hot wires.

I'll do some checking for you, but I'll be gone fishing in Canada for a week or so.

Are you changing brands of outdrives? How are you covering the hole where the outdrive comes through your transom??
Thanks,
Mike

First, driftwood - unfortunately nothing fitting your requirements available from my sources, sorry.

Second, Mike - about five years ago we converted from a 77 OMC to mercruiser with a 3.0 liter chev. Total cost was about $6500. The fiberglass work was done by a local backyard guy that the mechanic knew, bad choice as just last Aug we had the entire transom replaced. His "patch job" went bad and dry rot set in. $3000 later we're back on the water. Case in point, have a reputable company do the glass/structural work.

hey Zig we just drug home a 77 and could use your drive for a spare..but not to insult you it would need to be dirt cheap..we only plan to nurse the current setup for a year or two then upgrade..from what we learned these drives are very week and break very easy at the gears where they mesh from the motor and drive....thats the last thing I want when out in the straights..anyway drop me a line if ya want it hauled off.

good luck on your trip, rip some lips for me!!
