Any of you own a Ridgeline? What do you like/not like? Looking at new trucks the Ridgeline looks good, also considering the Pilot.

I haven't seen one in the woods before, but I have a friend who has one. He is an accountant, and it has never left the pavement, and never had more than a load of stuff from Costco in the back. I think he pulls his 16' ski-boat too. It is higher on creature comforts than say a Toyota Tacoma, but the Tacoma has proven itself around the world.

I guess it depends on what you are getting it for. Honda has always made quality vehicles. I have driven a Pilot quite a bit, and it is also a nice vehicle, but does not seem to be an off-road type of car either (it sits on the minivan chassis, I believe).

Beware of the 4wd system. If it is the same as the CRV, it isn't a real 4wd.

The sloped sides on the box really suck and makes it look like it's pretending to be a truck. Besides, with the sloped sides, where do you set your beer when you're loading man stuff into it. I think Richard Simmons would probably drive one.

They would be fine if you used it as a grocery getter, or to tow a drift boat. On the way back from the Cowlitz last week we saw one pulling a huge double axle enclosed cargo trailer. It was squatting pretty good but was going the speed limit on I-5.

Sometimes it's nice to have low range....I've got a sneakin' suspicion that the Ridgeline has a one-speed transfer case and no low range.

For what its worth, Honda does not recommend using a weight distribution hitch on the ridgeline. That made it a no go for us since we tow a 21' travel trailer.

We went with the Toyota Tacoma instead and could not be happier.

I drive a Tacoma as well, but my truck came without a "Real Man Certificate" like the big trucks come with.

I gotta wonder about those Toyotas since they put TuRD right on the side of them. smile

Watch out for the gas pedals.

Don't worry none Dan. The Real Man Certificate lost its value when they started passing them out with half-ton pickups by the big 3 anyway.

I think it was Rocket Red that had a pretty funny sig line of something like "Nice truck.......sorry about your penis." rofl

If you need a big truck to make a man out of you, then you have a problem a truck isn't going to remedy.

Ridgeline aint a truck, its a wanna be. Seriously, I dont think it even has truck frame under it, more like an SUV.

the ridgeline has independent rear suspension...something i'd be really suspicious of on something called a pickup...

Thanks for the credit. I think it was my sig line. I said it to my Brother in Law when he brought home their new GMC. Sucker is huge, like Big Foot, the truck not the wookie. He is still kind of pissed about the comment.

When we ride together I sometimes ask him: "So, can you just jump over the cars in this parking lot?" When they come to visit I always tell them if I find tire tracks on my Corolla, I will know who did it.

1. 'Honda does not recommend using a weight distribution hitch'
2. 'the ridgeline has independent rear suspension'

Is line 2 the reason for line 1? Or are the two unconnected?

I wouldn't touch a Ridgeline with a 10 foot pole. If I was in the market for a full-size I'd get a Toyota Tundra. I own an '01 Tacoma, which is my 2nd Toyota. My last one ('92 pickup) started leaking at 245,000 miles, so I decided it was time to get a newer vehicle.
