Bon Scott died.

Man time goes by quickly. Sure doesn't seem like 30 years have passed by.
I remember sitting in my dorm room listing to KISW when they announced it on the air.

Yup. Sat Radio is doing an all day on the hour tribute. For me it started with Soul Stripper first thing in the morning.
I still remember playing the crap out of my High Voltage Import album several years before most here had heard of them.

such a loss, nothing against Brian Johnson, but nothing compares to the Bon Scott days.

I agree however thank goodness they found Brian Johnson.

He's as close as it gets to the original AC/DC Bon Scott flavor of the band.

IMO.....

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

What a dark day. One of the big disappointments in my life is never having seen AC/DC with Bon at the helm.

Brian Johnson has done an admirable job of taking Bon's place up front, but lets face it.........you can't replace Bon Scott.

as i heard the story... Bon actually find B.J. ??? i thought months before his passing bon was at bar that had a band playing. the band was doing ac/dc covers. bon was very impressed with brian's voice. Bon told the guy from ac/dc about this guy he saw doing thier songs. several months after bon's dealth the band tracked down the singer from the bar. the rest is history.

any truth to this?

truthfully i recall that story back in early 80s. could have been on the radio talk show... metal shop, the only show with teeth. i use to listen to that every tuesday or thursday. say around 10 or 11pm.

imagine you find your predisessor before you pass away.

It's an urban myth.

Just google Brian Johnson and you'll get his complete biography. He was fronting a band called Geordy(sp) back then and they weren't an AC/DC cover band.

The story that you heard Brewer sounds like a take-off on the story of how Judas Priest found Ripper Owens.

i didn't say the band was a AC/DC cover band... i said the band covered ac/dc songs. just like any bar band does.
