I really like the Echo switch so I went to my local fly shop that sells both rods. The guy there told me to give a serious look to the Beulahs, said they are better quality for the money. Does anyone have any thoughts on this.

If they carry both brands, cast them both and see what YOU like better. That approach sure beats any advice you are to get on the internet. Both companies have been around for a while and will likely be there for you in the future should the need arise. I have heard good things from both rod makers although I have never cast either one.

I'm suprised you didnt get a TFO put in your hands...


what are you going to be using the rod for?
You should be able to cast both of them side by side before making a decision.

get a winston switch... cast way better than both.... you can even bomb with a spey line on it making it way more versitile, most other swtich rods I've cast sucked when you tried to spey cast with them.
