CARNATION, Wash. – A homeowner in his 70's shot a man who broke into his house about 5:45 a.m. Wednesday in a rural area near Carnation.

King County sheriff's spokesman John Urquhart (URK'-hart) says the 35-year-old suspect was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and is under guard.

Urquhart says the homeowner was treated at a local hospital for a bump on the head.

The homeowner had been awakened by sounds of a break-in, fought with the intruder, got a gun and shot him in an arm and a leg.

Urquhart says the suspect may be a transient who was living in nearby woods

So when will they be filing charges against the homeowner?

Like Dogfish says, keep firing until they stop coming toward you. Looks like the old guy done good tapping the intruder.

CARNATION, Wash. – The King County sheriff's office is still sorting out what happened in a shooting early Wednesday at a home near Carnation.

The sheriff's office says a 35-year-old intruder was shot twice in a fight with the 75-year-old resident.

King County sheriff's spokesman John Urquhart (URK'-hart) says the homeowner fired one shot but the second shot was fired by a 68-year-old neighbor who came to his aid.

Urquhart says both shootings were apparently self defense against a burglar.

The 35-year-old is in satisfactory condition Thursday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Yeah, but I didn't want to criticize the old man for his lack of accuracy.

Beware the ones who drink prune juice too, as the gas may be accompanied by more solid objects!
