The WDFW continues to make things more difficult. Why on earth did they split the deer permits into 7 different subsections? Based on the hunt I put the boys in for last year, they would have to buy 3 special permit applications instead of one. STUPID!

They also cut the Lake Quinault bull tag.

Heads up their collective asses.

WDFW went for the pure "Cash Grab".....said that when they were announcing what they were doing. Its just going to cost you a ton more and you won's have any better chance then before if not worse. I never put in for cow permits with my four choices and now I have a whole category that lets me. Its totally B.S.....................Les

from what i understand, it's gonna make it harder for someone like me who doesn't care about trophy hunting to put in for a 2nd deer tag, since you don't blow your trophy points for drawing one.

I actually like the fact that I can apply for a cow tag without loosing my points for a bull. When you can wait 10 or more years for a tag that is no guaranty, but is still your only chance at a branch animal, it is nice to be able at least take some meat once or twice in your life. I have some co-workers that waited forever for their coveted muzzle loader tags. This was an area they had hunted for over 30 years and know well. In the end, they never saw one elk the entire season. Pretty pathetic. Now they get to wait another 10 years and hope to look again. My opinion would be different if I thought the trophy tags actually had a very good chance of paying off, but any many areas I don't think the odds are actually that good.

I think WDFW is helping Idaho. With the hunting in Idaho in the toilet Wa is trying everything they can to screw it up so I just go back to Idaho anyway. Even if the game numbers are way down.

When I hunt Idaho I talk to more people from Wa than Idaho. All have the same reply. Just tired of WDFW and worth the drive and more $$$ to get away from it all.

WDFW just can not help themselves but to keep F.... with what works. They screw the bow hunters this year. Not like it is not tough enough to kill an elk with archery equip but now we get shorter seasons and they open the best area for the big bull tags to cow and spike at the same time. Pretty sad. Looks like it is time to go pick up the muzzle loader. Better seasons now for elk and better chances to draw a tag. Sad as I love bow hunting elk.
