I'm hoping that someone on here can help out. The last time I had my oil changed, the technician said that my front transfer case was leaking. I took it into the dealer and he quoted $5000. This is a 2005 Kia Sportage with 155,000 miles on it. I have noticed no issues with the vehicle and do not want to spend the 5 grand. Does anyone know of a good tranny man that may be able to help? If I keep putting differential fluid in, can I realistically expect to keep it running? Any ideas are welcome.

Yeah. Having known others with the same model, that thing's a booger on your finger.

Save yourself the money, time and hell and ditch it. And consider yourself wiser now that you know better than to buy another Kia.

Is it leaving oil spots on the ground when you park it? Rainbows on the ground coming from your rig when its raining? Oli change employees are well trained to cover their butts about any possible leak. Not sure if you are talking about the transfer case at the rear of the transmission or the front differential between the front wheels. If it is not dripping heavily or growling from worn bearings you can likely get lots of use out of it. Just do not run it low on fluid.
