While I think the dude was a "little" quick on the grab and set, here's a great shot of how fast and easy it is to have a fishing rod out of the holder and in your hand without changing the line tension or rod angle one tiny bit..and there are no other rodholders that can do it like that.

That's a sweet clip, been wanting to do something just like that for the Folbe boys.
That one showcases the action of the rod holder pretty darn well. All your hard earned $$ spent on their gear stays right here in the US of A, thats a huge plus in my book.

Replaced all mine with Folbe after Bouy 10 last summer. Loved using them on the LCR last month. Very pleased. Three old holders available free to good home.
sunk one on the kalama recently. luckily it wasn't mine... they're all i have on my boat too. only issue i've had was mounting them with the movable part towards the inside of the boat. had a rod get stuck for a few seconds. SM, make sure that the holder opens towards the water, away from you when you pull on the rod, seems to help.

I'm with SundayMoney on this one,I've tried WD40 & sandshrimp oil and still fight it a bit.I have one on the transom of my sled, which is my holder.Until it's a smooth gig I ain't gonna get the other two that's needed for the passengers, shouldn't have to sand jack [censored] @ the price they go for.Good luck, STRIKE ZONE
P.S. That hook set was so fast,it was almost scarry.
