My pup ,Tye, apparently ate something he shouldn't have; the list of possibilities is almost endless. I have both honetsuckle and wisteria in his fenced yard. (Ididn't know they could be poisonus to dogs till three days ago when I found that out surfing some dog sites. Both bushes are now trimmed way up above where he can reach and fenced away from him with chicken wire.)

Anyway last night he had the Hershey squirts bad. Pooped all over our rug, but I was not angry because it was obvious he was in distress and couldn't help himself. He pooped four times in three hours and was obviously feeling punk. I was worried he might have a fever.

I put him in his kennel and left the door open in case he had an emergency. Last night I slept poorly worrying about me little buddy. I jumped up at 5:00 today to see how he was, with every intention of rushing him to the vet today if he was still feeling crappy. I am soooo happy to report he is 100% today. As we speak he is nipping at my bathrobe belt and generally being a frisky puppy. I am ecstatic! I think this may be love.

When Cedar got salmon poisoning and he was away at the vet overnight, I didn't sleep well either. My "shadow" was gone. Felt so good to have him back and healthy.

The squirts are no fun to clean up. My last lab was an escape artist and a garbage can raider. Lost a few area rugs to that dog. It must be love.

Area rugs are great sacrificial items......I have one in front of all three egress points of my house in case I can't make it to the door in time when I awake to either the smell/sounds of the hershey squirts or the pre-cursor tuba-grunts of a big puke.

Dogs are awesome thumbs

I now have a dog door. The carpets are safe! So far the raccoons haven't figured it out.

Man, I HATE that noise. Nothing gets me out of bed faster though!

It seems like puppies have pretty sensitive stomaches and it doesn't take much to mess them up. It may not even be the suspect plants, Dave.

Dave,
Don't worry when squirty... worry when nothing comes out, or when a lab won't eat.

Mine picked up a taste for the small river rock in my landscaping. That emergency surgery ran over $1500!

Lab pups are why there is pet insurance, too bad my broke ass didn't buy it.

previous lab ate a whole fried chicken when the x and I were talking to someone at our front door. Hearing that chicken bones can kill a dog I freaked and called an emergency vet that told me he would meat me at his near by clinic in 10 minutes. He then asked what breed of dog it was. I said Lab. He said never mind don't worry about it that the chicken would be in my back yard the next day,

Tuba grunt ....that's a new one. When you hear that sound I always expect to see something like a whole cat come out

LMAO..."tuba grunts and whole cats"...I get the sympathy heaves when I hear them play that note!

Glad all worked out good Dave. They're sure special little critters. Mine terrorizes the other lab/pointer mix at work (boss's dog). She's crashed under my desk now.

I always wanted to patent an alarm clock that made a realistic imitation of a cat hacking up a furball, that always got me up quick.

The yakking lab alarm clock from Roncoe now with the new Tuba Grunt setting guaranteed to wake the snoring fat bassturd in the next campsite over. Also comes with a jumbo can of labgas that is emitted the third time the snooze alarm is touched in a cloud that is sure to make you retch. Comes in duck blind burrito, Pickled haring and sourkrout sandwich and Damit the dog found last weekend's egg salad.

With Tye we see the lab farts as a warning alarm. After the second one better put him out.

When are Tye and his mom gonna go fishing together?

Took Tye into Three Rivers Marine today. He was a BIG hit. Damn the women love a puppie.

Years ago my room mate had a outdoor lab. One day I was watching tv with a freind and we had let him into the house. Suddenly a horrible smell came up. I looked walked over and found the worst smelling pile I have ever seen I looked over at the dog and he ran for the door. It was so bad the freind bailed and I ended up puking trying to clean it up. I yelled at the dog that day, but that was it. Still, he seemed to know how bad it was. No matter how hard we tried, he never would come in to the house agian.
