60 must be the left hand crank.

Taught my son to fish on a spinning reel. When it was time to step up to casting reels got him a left crank curado (age 10). He's good with it. I borrowed it once and could not believe how much better that is than the right hand crank. In the process of switching over though I have a dozen or so right hands.
I'll probably stick with the right hand cranks on the salt gear and go left on the fresh water stuff.

I've used mine on two trips, the first was for tuna and it worked great. On the second trip (buoy 10) the thumb bar started sticking and you needed to pull it back up to engage the spool, the clicker almost wasn't there too. On the first trip the clicker was loud and strong, on the second trip you could barely here it.

I played with it again after the second trip and the thumb bar worked again??? The clicker is still quiet though.

At $100.00 its a great buy, but at full retail of $279.00 I would expect more.

Almost everyone in my family and most of the folks who fish with me use the right hand crank. By necessity, I've become somewhat competent in using a right hand reel as I like my family and friends to bring fish to the boat.

Guess I failed to mention that as I was stripping the line off the reel prior to boxing it up to send back, the line-out clicker also went TU.

Disappointed? Yah yoo bechah!

Seems all the newer reels I've bought in the last 5 years have issues, regardless of mfr. An epidemic of poor craftsmanship on the part of the mfr? Or just planned job security for their tech and service staff?

My Toro 50 handled up albacore just fine, along with all the steelhead I've caught on them over the past two years...no explanation for your fuckup, might be a lemon?

Casting rods: Right hand retrieve...it's all they had when I learned to cast them, and that's what I'll do forever at this point.

Spinning reels: Always left hand retrieve. Always done it that way.

Fly Reels: Left or Right (It's well known that flyguys go both ways)...but I prefer the crank on the right.

Center Pins: Either way, prefer the right, though, by a good margin.

Fish on...

Todd
