Better run him hard once he heals. My lab and my buddies lab both got snipped about the same time and they both got fat afterwards. My dog was 3 when I finally had it done and was in great shape before but got fat afterwards, and I live on some acreage and it runs all day long non stop.

kenna wore that thing for about 5 minutes, dave. I never had an animal who tore out their stitches (not to say he won't). she licked it a bit, but that was it. makes it kind of hard for them to get around, in and out of the crate and such. he looks so sad.......
btw, 60# at 6 mos.....
thinking about sending her to bird camp here pretty soon, pending wife approval and funding. we're going to have an assessment from the trainer next week

man that would pissoff Radar. The black male pups really got the looks of the litter. Radar is a total Goof Ball but one hell of a good dog. Hope everyone is happy

I grew up with labs, and we never snipped them......watched them hump, fight, sniff ass instead of hunt, cruise the neighborhood, and 2 of them get hit by cars. Married a dog lover, and I have snipped both of my labs since and I gotta admit they are much more healthy for it.....stick around the house, and both have been decent duck and pheasant hunters. Very, very happy. Boris is just over 60 pounds and seemingly healthy and happy. He looks A LOT like Tye. No doubt about their relation. Never put the cone on Boris and he did fine. A little licking of the wound but a quick "NO" always made him stop. He barely even noticed it happened.

Tye was 63 pounds at six months. Cone came off today . He HATED it. He was so happy rto get it off his smile was obvious. Stitches look great. Vet said no running , stairs or swimming for 10 days. Fat chance. So far a few licks in the private . Can't tell if for pleasure or cuz of itching. BTW he has an awesome coat. I may be prejudiced, but i think he's beautiful. He swims, but not with enthusiasm. But has learned to walk on loose leash, sit, lay down, fetch, drop, go to rug, and stay. Hes smart as hell. Yeah, I'm glad I got him. P.S. I think my wife likes him a little too.
