Number one reason to use crutches: "I'm afraid I'll fall ifn' I don't." Talk, talk, talk . . . Steelheaders don't take anything but fly rods, sans bobbers, to BC.

Back atcha' Toddster and DFNW.

Actually, we did make plans for a one or two day fly only excursion, but the pouring rain and rising rivers for three days at the end of the trip shot the plans all to hell, and we ended up fishing muddy waters for a day and then packing up and leaving early.

Like all successful fly anglers, I've fished enough of the rivers there now to find out where and how the fish hang out, and I'll go out next year and show them some flies...I especially have a few spots where it will be a dry fly show only, after seeing mature steelhead sip caddises off the surface repeatedly in the evenings...what an incredible thing to watch!

Caddises?! Those things were taking dink float imitations on the swing! "Look down ya little %$#!!" I think were my exact words.

You definitely would have caught at least two more fish if you had put a hook on your flow-at smile

Sounds a heck of a lot like the trip I took with 2 great friends in '08. Epic Steelheading, we were throwing our two handers most of the time and absolutiely crushed fish on the *&^#*#* and other rivers for 7 days!
How you like the town!?? more tweakers in that town than all of Glendale, Marblemount and Sultan combined! We towed my little 16ft jon/jet up there and ran all over the @*%($(....just an amazing time...so amazing I'd find myself sitting back watching my buds slam fish after fish and not even care about rushing out to try and catch one myself because we'd already released 15 that day. we fished some of the same runs I see in your pictures and it brings back a ton of awesome memories of that trip with 2 of my best friends in the world.
We are planning on going back next year before they crack down on the alien fishing...would love to hit the Big River this time.

Thanks for the great slideshow and editorial!

Without a doubt, the best photo essay of a steelhead fishing trip I've ever seen on this BB, or any other. Great job on the pics and the narration! It brighten up my entire day here in Portland, OR. Thanks!

Did I happen to mention that first pic of Micah is a 40.5" hen. Hens always look smaller in photos but looking at that tail wrist you get the idea! smile

I should have a few videos coming in the next day or two....

Bad luck for Nick and I this year, but I'll be back......soon.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

That's something you should probably get used to.
