Hey All,
I plan on heading out with my honey the weekend of the 8th of June. We are hoping to find a lake that holds good fishing, good lake access, and either camping or cabin facilities. Most of the state is fair game, though we don't want to spend most of our weekend driving. Three hours is perhaps the most we can stomach. Fly fishing will be our method. Any suggestions? Also, if you have a stretch of water in mind, can you recommend flies as well?

One place is Silver Lake in Cowlitz County close to Castle Rock. It has both camping and cabins. Good luck on your weekend.

Theres also Silver Lake in Pierce County off of Mtn. Hwy.
They have camping, cabins, a dock and/or boat rentals. Pretty reasonable.
Have a great time.

With a three hour drive you could get yourself over to the Moses lake area. Stay at Blue lake outside of soap lake and have a shot at both Rocky Ford creek for mostly large very picky rainbows, and then hit Lenore. On the way back you could hit Lenice or Nunally near Beverly, WA or hit Dry Falls as well. All five bodies of water have plenty of access, and some decent fish are available. Have fun. Andy

Hey All,
Thanks for the tips. I've hooked up with a campsite near Dry Falls at Sun Lakes State Park. Site 117. I plan on hitting either Blue, Lenore, Park, or Dry Falls. If anyone is planning on going there this weekend, look for the guy wearing a white, floppy looking canvas hat who is fly fishing. If he responds to the name "Dave," then it would be a good chance that would be me. Since it looks like my fishing partner won't be able to make it, maybe we could hook up and work the lake together. I plan on bringing my fly tying gear in case I loose my good stuff. I'm leaving Friday the 8th and will be returning Sunday early. Hope to see a fellow Washingtonlakes.com person there.
