someone opened the gate at Kapowsin. I don't know if it was the state or not, but either way it was open a few days ago and is probably open still. does anyone know what happened?

I've herd talk of the state buying addional land, and reopening the launch after a major make over. I've herd that same story for years now.(Vandals probably crashed the gate)

Maybe stacie would have some info.

I don't realy mind the gate being closed. I can launch my 12' crawdad from ericsons for 3 bucks. I think of this time as being a rejuvination period for the lake.

So how does the old launch look still a lot of trash?

it looks great! a lot of vegitation has grown back and the grabage is next to non existant. However it is still a very "seedy" area. Which at times can make you uncomfortable especially having to leve you vehicle on top at the road, so far just this season my friends window has been busted out and been attempted to have been broken into, a passer-by scared them away and then came to notify us down at the lake. But we still like to fish there.

Yep I've lived out here in that area for almost 30 years now , and if you leave your vehical there alone your just asking for trouble... thats why when i'm there I use ericsons 3 bucks is definatly worth the saftey of your vehical. as for the old boat launch your probly right about the vandles I dought the state reopened it since they are working on a new one it is suposed to be done some time next year but at the rate the state works it probly wont be done till 2003...I cant wait for some idiot with a 30,000 dollar bass boat to launch there and take off full speed and rip the transom off his boat , I just hope i'm there to see it!!

I fish kapowsin all the time and every trip I find a new stump with my eletric trolling motor.
As soon as the launch opens up I'm sending all the jetskiers I can find out that way.
