QE2 is baked in the cake and Bernankrupt has already admitted Fed bond purchases are designed to inflate the stock market.

After the first round of QE unemployment still hovers around 17% based on historical measures and over 9% by the gov'ts calculations.

More fake money isn't going to fix the fundamental nature of the problem. It will only eventually make things much, much worse.

What year did they go from U-6 to U-2 unemployment figures? Was that Carter or Ford?

I've been doing well. My only regret was selling my 2k shares of Netflix last year. Was tired of the shorties manipulating it. Sold it for 100% profit but if I had hung on it would have put me over the top into retirement.

I thought it was in the 80's but I'm probably wrong about that.

U-3 is the official measure is it not?

Doesn't U-2 only capture those who recently lost work or were laid off?

It's so much fun watching folks making wrong predictions month after month. A few months back some of you were warning that your 401Ks were gonna tank soon. Other kept telling us the improvment in the market was a blip and it would take a dive soon. Meanwhile the Ford stock I bougt at $1.75 is now over $15.00. I just wish I hadn't sold 500 shares after it quadrupled.

Do I know what it will do next? Hell no. Do you? Hell no.

I do know that over the last 100 years the market has been a solid performer.

And SW, how does reporting a fact make you an eternal optimist? Note I didn't forcast it would continue, only stated what has happened lately.

I think you are right about U-3. Not certain. Statistics. 89% are made up on the spot.

What's your plan for all of the millions of people who retire during a down market or made bad choices? Death panel?

The pumpers of this idea want all of that dough in the hands of the market manipulators who stand to make a ton of money. Al Gore had it right.....lock box. SS isn't IRA or 401K. It needs to be an absolute for when all else has failed.
