I have never fished the lake and would like to get some info on it. If you have any information on the lake I would appreciate it. Is is open to fish sockeye? Thank You. Joe

Take a look at the regulations. You can get copies free at any place that sells licenses. Lake Wenatchee is closed to fishing for sockeye. It is open to fishing for kokanee and the regulations define the difference as "KOKANEE/SOCKEYE under 16" are KOKANEE; those over 16" are SOCKEYE SALMON and must be released".

A little bit of inside news, there is a very good chance that sockeye will open on the lake sometime soon (possibly this weekend).
The passage of fish past Tumwater just went through the roof that last 3-5 days and they are estimating 28,000 fish in the lake as of two days ago. Now it just depends on how soon the WDFW gets off their a$$ and decides to open it up.

OH YEA111111 I heard it is open to fish in the lake for Sockeye as of the 10th. I have never fished for them but I would think flashers and quick fish, or hot shots? I would love some ideas from anyone.

Check out Washington Fish & Games web site. They have the info you are looking for on the opening. My Question is: Do the same principles apply for these fish as the Lake Washington fish? Do they want the Red Hook?

I plan on fishing them the same as Lake Wash, although I do have some plugs and flatfish for backup. This is going to be interesting!
