jim,

Droppers are illegal on some waters and legal on others.

For some real interesting reading, read thru all the proposed regs for next year and in there you'll see a section on "droppers" and it will say you can use three flies if you want.

Personally I think the days of fishing three or more flies are long past. That was the days of wet flies, brook trout and keeping everything caught.

I had the opportunity or pleasure to watch a guy fish droppers the old fashioned way in the early 70's. He was probably 50 then (yeah.. old.. right). Anyways he had one of the old style wiggly fly rods, a line that sunk (not necessarily a sinking line) and the old style leader that used three flies. He wiggled his rod tip to impart action to his flies.

So, Jim, droppers are legal on some waters and illegal on others. Believe, and don't quote me on this, that they are illegal on fly fishing only waters and legal on selective fisheries and "anything goes" lakes.

Bill

TM,

It only smells like BS... but there is the kernel of wisdom there.

You should look into it as Confucious says "a fat hog can find an acorn anywhere"... maybe that was Will Rogers..

Search and find the nugget of truth within.
