At least the Dawgs are going to the Holiday Bowl. I'd be giving them pages of crap if they were headed to the Beef 'O' Brady's or Chick-fil-A Bowls... rofl

Of course I don't give the Dawgs much HOPE against those Cornhuskers; not after they wiped the floor with them this year.

Huskies don't have much luck in Holiday Bowls anyway so it's not like they're expecting to win... grin

Keep posting Hank, I'm enjoying the view.

I take it the dawgs drew Neb? If so my monies on the pups. Pretty hard to beat the same team twice in a season....unless your Auburn. smile

Can't bother reading the 9 pages of shitstorm that has been posted since I left town on Friday...but...

Please accept my sincere apologies, my Cooger brothers, for my utterly failing claim that Chris Polk would run all over the Coogs for 200 yards...I can't belive I miscalculated so badly...even though it wasn't out of the realm of reason that he could rush for nearly 300 yards.

I gave the Coogs the benefit of the doubt that they could hold Polk to only 200 yards...that's what I get for relying on the Coogs.

What bunch of pathetic pansy-ass fools...enjoy the post-season at home on the couch watching actual football teams play another game.

Oh, well...there's always next year...or next decade...

...or never, if you're a Coog.

Sucks to be you.

Fish on...

5-4 in the Pac-10
3 wins on the road
4 wins on the last possesion

I'd say that's a nice start and the Dawgs certianly deserve a bowl game!

That it's in San Diego is a bonus!!

Sort of sucks for Neb but beat OK like once a decade and they wouldn't get dissed.

4 point Zags win...............my guess.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Washington State football coach Paul Wulff will return next season, athletic director Bill Moos said Sunday.

There had been rampant speculation that Wulff, 5-32 in his first three years, would be fired. But the Cougars (2-10, 1-8 Pac-10) showed improvement in the second half of this season. Moos said school president Elson Floyd left the decision to him, and that the goal of both is to see a successful football program.

"It is my feeling at this particular time that the best course of action to move in that direction is to continue with the current leadership," Moos said in a news release.

Washington State lost to archrival Washington 35-28 in an exciting game Saturday in Pullman. The Cougars beat Oregon State in their previous game - their first Pac-10 win in two seasons.

Many of Wulff's players expressed support for their coach after Saturday's game.

His supporters contend the Cougars are unquestionably better than when Wulff took over a decimated program from Bill Doba in 2008. Critics contend progress is measured in wins.

Wulff believes his efforts to rebuild the program from the ground up have paid off.

"This team is capable of going on next year and being a bowl contender," Wulff said earlier this week. rofl

Washington State has been more competitive this season. The passing attack led by sophomore quarterback Jeff Tuel, junior Jared Karstetter and freshman Marquess Wilson ranks 48th in the nation, though Washington State's total offense and total defense statistics both rank in the bottom quarter of the 120 major college teams.

Before he became athletic director this season, Moos was part of a panel that recommended hiring Wulff.

Around the time Wulff was hired, the Cougars were hit with the loss of eight scholarships by the NCAA because of academic performance. That has changed, as the team placed more players than any other Pac-10 program on the all-academic first team this season. (have to give kudos for that one thumbs) Wulff is a former WSU offensive lineman who was successful as head coach at nearby Eastern Washington.

The mere fact that any 6-6 team is bowl eligible is a joke if you ask me.

Any team.................

A winning record should be the minimum requirement to go to a bowl game.

I enjoyed the game. I always enjoy the Apple Cup more when the Huskies win.

Still, Tuel played a good game. The Coogs are improving, but I didn't think it was enough that they'd keep Wulff as coach. And I also agree that 6-6 is a strange record to get into a bowl game. With so many bowl games now, the value of them all is undermined. I was surprised to see how many 6-6 and 7-5 teams are bowl bound. Clearly, being bowl bound isn't much to brag about these days. However, beating the state rival is!

Sark might just be the guy to bring the Huskies back. Hope so. It's been cold out in the desert.

Did anybody ask you?

So IF the Cougars ever get a 6-6 record, AND get offered a bowl, I assume you will boycott it right?

A one point win over Montana State is considered a bowl victory in the Coog's record book.

I would disown the Cougs for for accepting a bowl game at 6-6... No self respecting Coug would watch the game. We have more pride than that.

rofl "self respecting" and coog in the same sentence is laughable in itself.

You clowns have a coach with a 5-32 record and are hailing his ability to "motivate"

Delusional is becoming an understatement.

Stupid ... is better fitting.
