Does anyone know if people are or will be allowed in what was Weyerheuser Snoqualmie tree farm area? I have been going in there for 18 years. It sure would suck if people were not allowed to anymore.

They instituted a permit system a few years back, it was 50 bucks last time I bought a permit. You get 'em at the Sporting Goods shop in North Bend. Then you can get through the Spur 10 gates to get up to Hancock etc. I haven't bought a permit for about 5 years or so so I'm not sure if they're still doing it...

Hey Schlab - Mike is referring to the recent (as in the last month or so) sale of the land to an envronmentalist group.

I'm not aware of any decision yet. I'm tempted to drive out and see if the gates are open or the main gates manned like they used to be...

I've always wanted to try up there but the only time that I was up there was about 4 yrs ago. The guard said the road was out two miles up the road so we left. Jim S.

Ah, Gotcha Phish Phreak. That is a really good question...but my understanding was that the land swap was to allow for public recreation. However, if they do away all the gates and the permit system, I wonder what the flood of people will do to all those lakes and beaver ponds etc up there. Pretty fragile stuff..

My 2 cents worth , is that it will look like it did 10 years ago. Trash, sofas, reefers( no not that kind laugh ) cans, bottles, old cars, trucks etc etc. So I believe that gate system is a good thing. eek
