Well i've played alot of fishing games and most are pretty cool. One of my favs is Trophy Rivers. But somehow they all lack the excitement factor or lose it quickly. A few days ago i came across a demo for a game called Virtual Deep Sea Fishing that hit the shelvs for a month or so and didnt do very well. But it's a sleeper. When i first played this game demo i almost had a heart attack. LOL no kidding. I was completely WOWed by the fish in this game. The first fish i hooked was a 2300lb black Marlin that almost jumped in the boat. My jaw dropped.
The demo lets you fish one area for Marlin but the game has some 15 or 20 areas to choose like the coast of Chille or Africa. And 30+ species including tuna, tarpon, cuda, shark, sailfish, dolphin and others. You can still fish live bait or troll it or plugs or whatever you want. But what most games don't have is real pole and reel action. This game you have to work your rod correctly, like a real rod, not just reel the fish in as fast as you can. And if you hook a fatty in the 2000lb class or just have a fish that won't stop running, you have to chase it down with the boat. What more could you want? Wait till you see it. The download is well worth it. And the game comes with virtual deepsea fishing 1 and 2 for 10 bucks. The only down side(IF this is a down side) is that the developers put most of the wow into the gameplay and fish characteristics rather than highend graphics for the fisherman or the boat.
