I'm afraid the days of the Fawks beating the Niners are a thing of the past and I'm pretty sure I won't miss them. This Smak-Tawk thread will probably need another server.

I'd take the Niners with the same team but a different coach any day. Even Alexis under center could beat those Fawks 9 out of 10 times. Did you know he was the highest rated QB in the NFC West this year? Even higher rated than Bradford? Course he was #21 in the NFL but that just shows how bad NFCW QB's were.

As SD said, you've still got the same team...and now they'll have a new coach, and a new system to learn...not usually conducive to having a good season in the first year.

The sack kicking will take place at whatever venue hosts the first game...Harbaugh is smart enough to wear a cup for the second game after the Hawks kick the Nummers asses...again.

The Nummers will likely go 5-11, 6-10, 6-10, and then Harbaugh will take a big pay raise to go the Broncos.

Whatever record the NIners have from now on, it will still be one game ahead of the Fawks. If the Niners are 5-11, the Fawks will be 4-12, etc.

By the way, in that Harbaugh press conference he said the Niners will be bringing back the West Coast Offense.

I figure the Niners will draft a QB and maybe pick up a caretaker QB in FA to groom him. Someone like Orton wouldn't be half-bad and the Broncs might let him go pretty cheap to make room for Tebow.

I like Gabbert from MO. 6'5" 240#. He was first team All-Academic in the Big-12 too so he's got smarts. He'll need those to adapt from a spread to a pro-set.

We'll see what's around when the Niners draft #7. I figure Locker will still be around at #21 for the Fawks.

Since Luck is not declaring, Gabbert is projected in the top 5 right now.

Gotta have receivers that run precise routes in the WC Offense. They don't have that in SF either. Takes 3 years to develop a QB to run the WC Offense. See you guys in 2014 Hank.

The way I got it figured it won't happen overnight. There have been a few college coaches that came up without any NFL coaching experience and didn't fare too well.

Jimmy Johnson was one of the coaches that came from a successful college program without any pro experience. He drafted a QB and some decent position players and then promptly lost the first 8 games. The rest, as they say, is history.

One of the things Harbaugh said that I liked at the presser today was "Losing is not an option". Pretty soon that will come true for the Fawks too. When they play the Niners, losing won't be an option...it'll be standard equipment...
