Terrific year for Coho on the Fraser system, first year in many there was no Commie or FN Commie Chum fishery, ya think theres a corealation. Around here low Chum runs means Coho and Interior Steelhead sneak through, but at a cost to nutrient value provided by Chum. The Chum are like women, you can't live with em and can't live without em.

Had two glory days, a half dozen good days, and a whole bunch of ho hum days out there chasin' coho. But the most special trip of the season was when my oldest daughter Jodi called to ask if I could take her and a bunch of college friends out in the boat. I said sign 'em up for CCA and you got a deal. Sorry to the folks that got the last minute boot that weekend. How could I say "no" to my own daughter?

Couple days later I get a call from LMWS, asking if there's room for her, too.... and it's not even a Daddy weekend! Again, ain't no way I could say "no".... so I ended up launching on a Saturday AM with EIGHT people on board. Got all but one guy a decent fish.

Fish of the day came to Jodi.... now tell me, is there a better way to make a papa proud?

Found a few more the past coupla months. It ain't always GLORY, but a day spent on home waters RARELY disappoints.
