Paul S writes a good report about fishing Dry Falls Lake on April 7 and hopefully he had the lake to himself because to the best of my recollection this is a "Last Saturday in April" opening kind of lake....

Don't want to give him too hard of a time though because it was obviously an honest mistake, or he certainly wouldn't have posted the report....

Dry Falls opened on the 1st of April this year. First time for every thing. Check with the Dept of F&G. Jim

Since we are bringing people up to date on things, I'd just like to point out that the F&G and F&W departments have merged some time ago, and now the department is called the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW). Or you can just call them them the F&W department. But if you want to keep calling them the F&G department, most of us will know what you are talking about.

SW - yep, I fished Dry Falls on Sunday and Monday with about 20 other anglers. Early opener this year produced some pretty nice fishing for 14-18 inch bows.

Just in the interests of clarity: the merger to which you refer was between the Department of Fish & Game and the Department of Fisheries. Prior to the merger, the Department of Fish & Game regulated game and game fish (trout, steelhead, bass, etc.), while the Department of Fisheries regulated salmon and other food fish, as well as clams and crustaceans.
