Any good SeaStrike stories from today? We swore him to secrecy.... And to kind of go along with the thread... I rowed Add's Clack most of the day yesterday. It's a 16 foot set up inline. Love that boat. I have a tin 16x54 Thor. I love that boat too. The way the glass boat goes over the skinny stuff without sticking is very nice. You guys should take Drew fishing. He shows up on time, has real green money to pay for gas and shuttles, is self sufficient in the boat, and is a cool dude. He didn't tell me to [censored] off once all day. Haha. Dave and Add are good guys for sure. We all definitely had some laughs during the float. Thanks for the kind words there Dave. I am a true believer now that glass boats are strong. I actually like the way the floor flexes and some of the tailouts we slid through were a skinny 1'-2' deep max and we got through most of them without grinding over the rocks. Stability was great too. Not sure if Add's clack is 54" wide or not, (forgot to ask) but It felt sound through every piece of water we went through. Drew

I think a driftboat is right up your alley. It'll get you into more fish.

I think a driftboat is right up your alley. It'll get you into more fish. I love how many different holes you can hit in a day from a drift boat and not feel tired from hiking all day. And not seeing another soul for hours at a time except for whoever is with you is very nice compared to elbow fishing at a hatchery. Drew

I like driftboats because they keep hoardes of anglers downstream of me, while I play clean up higher than most driftbags go.

drew are you sure that a drift boat is the next step? brewer has been on the river bank for 30 yrs.... still no drift boat. Drew, If your'e going to get a boat, prepare to be ho'd. What goes around..... And don't be swayed by brewer's sympathy ploys either. He may be setting you up for a ride, but just ask yourself, "would I pick up brewer on the side of the road if he was hitchin' a ride?'. Jus' sayin'.

drew are you sure that a drift boat is the next step? brewer has been on the river bank for 30 yrs.... still no drift boat. jeedus, the boat has no motor. Oh yeah it's definitely the next step. And a small sled will come around mid life crisis time to use on certain rivers. That crisis will probably come sooner than later Banking it can be fun but you certainly can't cover near the amount of water effectively like you can from a drift boat. Even if you don't fish from the boat and just use it as a taxi from hole to hole It's nice that you can get to stretches of river that you may be the first to drift a bait through that day. Drew

Go look in orygun. Drift boats are cheaper there for some reason. Also, every fish you catch in a boat bought in Orygun will be 30% larger, on average Thanks for posting Search Tempest. Never seen that before...

Drew
Drew, You and brewer are both rare individuals. Brewer, of course just because he's Brewer. But you because, unlike the rest of us who might take him just for the beer, you'd do it because you're a genuinely nice guy. BTW, for a Costco cooler, you're going to need at least a 18' Guide Model. You know, the ones outfitted with refrigeration. But, if you can hold off a little longer, Pavati should be introducing a model with a built in beer tap in the very near future.

drew, my last and only post on this thread was, well under the influence of a great buzz... such a good buzz i barely even recall posting anything. which is very typical of all my posts... hope your DB has the capacity to hold brewer and my beer icechest. which is the costco huge size!!! Haha. No worries man. The boat can hold Brewer and his beer and maybe Todd. Who knows

Oh and my five year boat buying plan goes like this...Drift boat purchase ASAP, followed by a raft or toon, followed by sled, and Pavati did not make the final cut for the five year plan.

This thread rates a +++
I am encouraged a bit about the future of river fishing when guys like SD, and possibly others, have a five year or longer plan to get drift boats and still have fish to fish for.
And, noting that some of the rest of the guys here keep encouraging them on...
Redd Yup, PP is a good place. We're all just one big, happy/disfunctional family around here I appreciate everyone's encouragement and help on this monumental purchase. Drew

Might have to leave all of your gear and rods at home, drew, to make room for all of our schit. Todd likes the brewer just fine...but I think a lot of that depends on the fact that in the past I could just walk away from him whenever I felt like it...might be harder to do in a driftboat. Fish on... Todd P.S. I'm willing to risk it...fishing with brewer, that is...not necessarily drifting one of my rivers with a newbie on the sticks

P.S. I'm willing to risk it...fishing with brewer, that is...not necessarily drifting one of my rivers with a newbie on the sticks Hey now...who says we'd fish one of your rivers? I'll be practicing a lot before I begin taking people down any rivers, especially OP rivers. I'll need all the seat time I can get though so hopefully someone out there wouldn't mind floating with me as sort of a navigation adviser or maybe I could follow another boat down some easy water a few times. I'm all for taking any of you down some rivers but will not be doing that until I feel confident in my rowing abilities. Thanks, Drew

I'm just kidding, Drew...I'd be happy to take a float with you in your new boat whenever you get around to getting it, and we can do a little OTR rowing demonstration...no better way to learn than doing it.
Fish on...
Todd
