I fished silver lake today and i noticed that on all the fish there was some kind of fungus or something growing on the side if the fish. The stuff was white bumps all over the sides of the fish. Does anybody have any idea of what these are?

We are getting a lot of calls right now on this symptom in a lot of our other lakes. The warmwater fish and bullheads are having some stress related effects from spawning.

Our pathologist indicated this is a normal aspect of spawning and it is a way that populations maintain themselves when there is too much crowding (as is the case at Swofford Pond with the bullhead die off).
