Now that the salmon season is opening Monday, I can let the cat out of the bag! If you want to catch some really nice Cutthroat, head out to lake Samammish. I've been nailing the sheit out of them. They've been running 17" to 22". They are fat and tear it up. I see guys fishing the middle of the lake all day long.I haven't seen to much action going on out there. Maybe it's cause I've been pre occupied with catching fish. I've been staying in close to the docks in 30 feet of water and running my down rigger at 10 ft.I run pop gear and an Uncle Wes' worm troll 24" behind the popgear. I set my gear at least 80 ft behind the boat. My best action has been on the East side of the lake.
The few fish that I've kept have puked up alot of tiny bait fish into the cooler.
Oh ya, put a full night crawler on. Seams that they ignore things if ya run just a half of one.
also, the Worm Troll I use is the silver blade with red dots on the inside.
Easy Limits, if you're reading this, you gotta try this fishery. These fish feed on trout you been getting out of Lake Washington. :p (just a little ribbing) If anyone wants more info, e-mail me. laugh

I'll give it a shot this coming week and let you all know how it goes. I work 1/2 mile from the State Park launch, so I'll go in the morning once or twice and see if they're still biting. If it's hot, I may have to try a few lunch runs too smile

Thanks for the tip!

OK, OK, being that this lake is just 10 miles from me I should get out there and try it. I haven't fished it for a few years. Thanks for the "heads up".

I will just blame it on the unsettled weather for now. Unsettled weather definately kills the bite. frown

Easy, Sorry to hear you didn't get anything today.I know the fish are there! When we talked yesterday I metioned that maybe this front may effet the bite. Hpoe everyone doesn't think I was blowing smoke about these fish. Stick with it and I'm sure you'll dial it in.

Heck, Lake Samm has skunked me on nice days, let alone changing weather conditions. Tough luck Carl, but we'll get em the 17th. My day was spent building a tree house for the kids, and still isn't done. frown

Ya, I will have to give Samm a few more tries. I fished Lake WA several times before I got a single fish. The only question will be when. With salmon being open now, the only time I will go to a lake is to rinse my boat. laugh

I hit the lake this morning for an hour and a half, and, like Carl, I only found one small perch...

But I'll be back since the lake is so close to work.

I'll let you know if I'm able to key in on anything good.

Isn't it funny how the bite comes and goes. I don't know how many times I've
hit some red hot fishing....gone and rounded up a buddy and told him 40 fish days
sure as hell, got back on the same water couple days later and the bite is gone. It's
getting sos I'm paranoid to invite any of my pals fishing and I sure don't guarantee
any results anymore.
