because I really like to fish the Cowlitz. It's not for everyone, but I think it presents its own unique challenges particularly in effectively running the boat and how you choose to set up on a drift. Not a big fan of the BC launch drift but it has its moments.

Could anyone inform me which fly works best for chrome faces at Blue Creek? I will be using my 18' two hander with a bright pink line. If you see me say hello and we can talk about how big my rod is.

Anything on the end of a bait diver works best at BC. I don't fish there, so any of the standard stuff works fine up and downstream from BC. Mostly I catch kelts tho. There's kelts everywhere in the winter after about Dec. 20th. Maybe why I like summer and fall better.

The fishing is not hot on the Cowlitz, it is OK but it is not lights out hot.
You have to work for them and be in the right place when the bite turns on or you will end up with only one or two bites all day!
Not as much pressure as one would think and the fish are spread out all over. We did pretty good, but have been fishing the Cow since the 60's. We saw quite a few boats with one or none today and yesterday.
Large Edward was a happy camper yesterday with the biggest at 17lb. 7oz. and bright!


I was pretty happy but sure not as big as the one above!


And man did the guy on the left get a bad time, lucky is was bleeding or the abuse would have been much better!

And Mr. Vedder, I looked all over for you today!
Stopped every boat and asked if they had seem the mighty Dave Vedder, they all said Dave who?

Those are some healthy looking fish!
