Anyone else like this store? Good prices and good quality. They sell these really good chicken/spinach sausages.

There are some bad things I could say about TJ's but Aunty would just bitch about it.

The only thing you really save any money there on are stuff like cheap wine, olive oil and vinegar. Their meat and produce prices suck balls. Not only that but buying prepackaged veggies is bad news. Those plastic bags act as little greenhouse incubators for bacteria.

That and TJ's is a huge Multinational Corporation that likes to disguise itself as a friendly local grocery store.

353 stores....I would have guessed 100 or so.

A Business Week article about the store noted that, between 1990 and 2001, the chain quintupled the store number and increased its profits by ten times.[5] Supermarket News estimates that Trader Joe's total sales for 2009 were $8 billion, which gave it a ranking of No. 21 on the list of "SN's Top 75 Retailers for 2011."[3] As of 2010, Trader Joe's sells what Fortune magazine estimated to be $1,750 in merchandise per square foot, more than double the sales generated by Whole Foods Market.[2] (Numbers posted by Fortune magazine are unverified.)

The May 2009 issue of Consumer Reports ranked Trader Joe's the second-best supermarket chain in the nation, after Wegmans.[10] In June 2009 MSN Money released its third annual Customer Service Hall of Fame survey results. Trader Joe's ranks second in customer service.[11] Ethisphere Magazine named Trader Joe's one of the most ethical companies in the United States in 2008, 2009, and 2010.[12][13][14]

Just had TJ's Mandarin Orange chicken last night. It's on the west side, so I haven't been there, but my wife shops there fairly regularly. They seem to have some good things that other stores don't. Don't think we've tried the chicken/spinach sausages yet though. I'll mention it.

Speaking of sausage tho, I used to think anything sausage needed to be a Polish or Kielbasa made of beef and pork. But man, the darn things have so, so, so much fat and additives that, although they smell good and almost taste real good, practically give me indigestion anymore. I've pretty much gone exclusively to chicken or turkey sausage. Those Adelle's work good in my sausage/marinara/penne dinner. Any other thoughts out there about sausage, be it TJ's or others?

TJ's is remodeling a former Circuit City store in Silverdale close to Costco and they're supposed to open mid-summer, I think. My niece liked working there when she worked at a TJ's in Seattle area.

Getting old sucks, doesn't it?
Crab is now a killer for me, as well. Love the stuff, but it goes through me so fast that I better not wander too far off..... smile

If you only eat natural, organic food, you'll be sure to die from natural, organic cancer.
