Yeah that is right Shoff Tackle in down town kent is closing after 80 glorious years. It kind of angers me since only a year ago I discovered them for all my fly fishing needs. They have an extensive collection of everything you would need to catch Salmon, Steelhead and Trout. Please check them out soon and support them in this darkest of times. I talked to the Owners wife and it was a tear jerking reason why they are closing. All I am asking is that you go in there and see what the store has for sale and pay homage to a store that has been a Green River beacon of information for me. Also, they will be having a sale going on from now until the day they close. Do me a favor and stay away from the St. Croix fly rods cuz I have not figured out which one I want.

Not good news! Built my son's first ultra light spinning rod with supplied from Shoffs. Still have that rod and it's a beauty!

i was down there a few weeks ago and bought a pair of polarized shades, i didnt see anything about them closing. i like going there, friendly people and lots of selection, i will have to make a trip down there in the next few days.

yeah I am gonna make a BIG trip down there to by all the Fly tying supplies that I can get from them. I still can not find a store around hear that has the selection of fly fishing equipment that they have.

wow, I don't live in kent but when I am in the area I always stopped by. That is really too bad. I have purchased many items from them over the years and I hope the best for them.

I'm not sure of the street names but lets say your coming from the west, follow 260th/Reith road all the way through downtown kent. Just as you pass under highway 167 stay to your right and go through 2 stoplights and it will be on your right at the next 4 way stop. If you follow the S turns and pass a skate park on your left at the railroad tracks, then your 1 street too far north. It's the only street with an old old strip mall on it that runs east west. The address is 214 west Meeker St.

I just wanted to put this post back at the top. I stopped in there today and they told me that at the end of the month is there last days. Hopefully some of you guys can make it down there and pay homage to a valley fishing beacon. Oh yeah they got some great deals going on.
