Enjoyable video, Magicfly. Thanks for sharing it. We had six rufous hummingbirds show up at our feeder last Saturday. They spent the afternoon buzzing around the feeder like bees at a hive. Most of them must have migrated on through, since only two are coming back to feed on a regular basis.

I want one. Though I could see myself unconsciously batting it out of the air while I'm trying to get something done.

I think that's a female Anna's hummer. I had a male stay at my yard since last summer. His name is Rocket, and chases all other males away and then goes absolutely nuts when a female shows up. Seen him pull of the chirp dive twice now. He helicopters up about 50 feet and then nose dives down about 45 mph and then loops up at the bottom of the dive. The creates the tail feathers to make a really loud chirp. This was only proven in the late 90's which is hard to believe.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing. That reminds me, I haven't put up my feeders yet, and it's late.

We've been feeding the Annas all winter as well, the Rufus's showed up as well. Fun to watch.
