Is there a decent place to anchor up for the night on southern Lake Washington? In case there is a sockeye opener, I don't want to fight the early-morning crowds at the ramp -- I'd rather launch the evening before and camp on the boat.

I'd be launching from SE 40th or Gene Coulon.

Thanks, and regards.

Mike

You can tuck into that sheltered little bay near Seward park on the West side of the Lake.

PS Just talked with someone who knows the lake....apparently this cove is the only approved anchorage on the lake.

make sure if you anchor at seward park that you park somewhere you can get out of on friday or saturday. usually you can park at sawyers overnight for a fee but i don't know if thats on for this weekend because of early seafair stuff. either way stay at seward if you can the water in the bay is calm enough that anyone could sleep through until the opener.

sushu, just got off the phone with king county harbor patrol, andrews bay in seattle has mooring buoy's , all bays north of yarrow point only on the east sise of the lake, two things to remember anchor LIGHTS ARE MANDTORY , and the mill foil is bad so watch out for dragging your anchor good luck, doug

Aack!! I'm betting the only thing worse than combat conditions at one of the ramps will be combat conditions at the Seward Park anchorage.

Hmmm...

I guess I'll show up at Magnuson at 4:30 and get in the queue.

Thanks for the info, and regards.
