My first incounter with Tim was in the Wind river canyon at 7 mile, a cast up to his bung hole and a smile a mile long truely larger than life, Now that is some dedication, really makes me wonder, R.I.P. Tim !!!PEACE

His stories were a trip. He made me laugh out loud at the keyboard more than any other poster....by far. Crap!

Tim was a one of a kind dude.. lots of laughs bantering around with him over the years. Had a few good fishing trips with him as well. Stam fests, Solfly, over here on the Clearwater. Grade A fisherman and grade A+ smartass. Seemed different the last few years. I really do hope he finds what he is looking for. Best wishes for his kids.

" 30... its the new 20" Lol.. Sol !!!

Tough, tough, tough. Bummed. sad. Just don't want to believe it. Hard to pursue perfection in an imperfect world. A BIG personality that sometimes lost the kindness in his heart. But truly a bright perfectionist has left far too early. Go big he did. Wish he'd do it more. One of my greatest days beach fishing ever was with him and another Tim. 26 coho in one evening. I had a good time watching him have a good time. I'll miss the dude. And his snickering laugh. Shouldn't be like this.

P.S. He left some legend wherever he went.

The exploding pumpkin incident was indeed epic. That punkin lid must've flown 300 feet in the air. All the bank fisherman went home and the driftboats cleared out. Classic!

Our fishing community is pretty tight, especially the steelheading brethren. We lost one of our comrades yesterday.

RIP Tim frown

God dang... This is a tough one to read through....

I had one heck of a time 2 years ago on our 4 day archery elk hunt, I've never laughed so much. Probably one of the best personalities I've ever met and he was always on his A game.... Was a blast to fish with as well...

I'll miss ya Tim!

WOW! what a shock

I also hunted with Tim a couple of years ago. 4 days of hardcore archery elk hunting....Im a fairly young guy in decent shape...let me tell you something about Tim,,,up early, hunt all day, and PARTY all nite..this dude was an ANIMAL..seriously he would go allllll nite then get up (if we even slept) and hunt all day..what a blast

You will be missed in the field and on the river banks!

JFC...I go to E-burg to turn a bid in for a road job and I get this news. In fact I just sent him a pic of my kiddo an hour ago with his first tweety bird kill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW...in shock.....I talked to him a month ago and he was fishing/rafting some class 3-4 water in Oregon. We talked after hunting season when he was takin' a big blacktail to his taxidermist in North Bend...Tim had a giant buck on his property that was driving him crazy...we talked theories and strategy about how to get the deer.

We only fished together a couple times on Rufus (Rico and his daughter were on the 1st trip), but we definately had a connection. When he got the "Big D" news he called me and Robbo for advice. We did a camp out with his girls and my family once on Rufus and we all had a blast (he got SO sun burned)!

He was such a driven man!!! I admired his intelligence, as well as his blunt-ness. If he had a thought you were going to hear about it. The world was a good place with Tim in it. Im sippin wiggy now...just feel kinda lost! He was truly a friend, even though we didn't see each other much. I'm sad about the situation and for his family!!!!!! I'll stop rambling.

Just found this thread and immediately felt the void in this community after 7710 examples of adventure, brotherhood, humor, wisdom and a bit o' venom when due. My condolences and prayers to the man's family and good friends....

May have to don the ol' SolFly shirt and hoist a frosty one with y'all....

Never met Tim in person, but talked with him on the phone and through emails, as most people have here on the board. I guess that's how most of the friendships start here. Reaching out to each other through what drives us. To be on the water somewhere enjoying life, and to those who were the closest to him.... good friends.

Sorry I missed the chance to wet a line with you Tim!

R.I.P. my friend.

Joe
